Prologue
not even in my wildest dream.
Morning
I woke up around 5.30 a.m. I assumed that Udon Thani's time zone was same with Bandung's time zone, so I performed Shubuh prayer at that time. As I finished the prayer, I went outside my dorm to see the morning view of Udon Thani Rajabhat University. I was very thankful to Allah that I can witness the sun rises from my dorm and I could see the beautiful park outside my dorm after the sun had risen. That was the first impression I could get from this place. The weather also nice, I checked it on my mobile phone apps, it was 21 degrees. What a perfect morning.
The first breakfast I got was an Omelette with Tom Yam Khuung (sea food Tom yun in Thailand). that was too early to eat Tom Yam, tho. But that was fine. Me and my friends all very delighted to taste Thailand food for the very first time. Of course we were accompanied with our Buddies to select the place and the menu. Although we were worried about the food whether it's Halal or not, but our Buddies made sure that every food they picked is Halal. So we can consume it with an ease.
Day
we were rushed to building 12 to attend the welcoming party event held by the University. We were wearing black and white formal dress and so the rest of the University staff to respect their late King who had passed away on October. We were asked to wear only black, white and grey color clothes while we visit the public place such as school. Since we are here to teach, so we only wear that clothes to school every day.
Back to the main topic, we were rushed to Building 12 because we already late. we supposedly at Building 12 in 9 a.m but we reached the place around 9.15. But that's okay. the event was prepared so well, the Vice President of University greeted us generously and the school representatives of the school we were assigned to teach to were there as well. We felt very warm since they all welcomed us so well. In the middle of the day, we learned about basic Thai Language with the Professor in Udon Thani Rajabhat University. We were not only students in class, there were Thai students also who helped us learn Basic Thai Language. We actually had a break for pray at 12 and lunch time, but since I was in my period, so I don't have to go to dorm for pray. So I decided to wait in classroom while all my friends went to the dorm. Fortunately, Ms. Mew, or Ms. Cat (Kunkhuu Mew a.k.a my mentor) took me to go around the faculty of education and introduced me to all the staff in the Faculty of Education. That was great experience for me to communicate with new people.
After we finished our class, we went around the University and the monument of Udon Thani. We took the University car (little bit like Caddy Car) to look around, and of course we took a lot of picture and captured a lot of good moments in a video.
Night
The time flew by so fast. We finished our orientation day at 6 p.m. But we still have to attend the Gala dinner that the University staff prepared for us as a part of welcoming party. They served us the best yet Halal food as our dinner menu. I couldn't take a picture of the food because I was so surprised by the types of the menu since there are A LOT of them and the size are so big. Too bad I couldn't finished all since I was so full.
After dinner, the students of Udon Thani Rajabhat University showed us Thai Dancing and after that we have some free time with our Buddies. My Buddies were Chuun from 3rd Grade majoring in English, Bowling and Pew are the students from Pre School Major 4th Grade.
Finally, the Orientation Day was over in about 9 p.m. we went back to our dorm and preparing for tomorrow's activity at school.
