Udon Thani's Anniversary (slash) My 22nd Birthday

The Most Anticipated Day in Udon Thani and Most Waited Day in My Life

Udon Thani Anniversary's Dancing to Celebration

I am so speechless. There's no better words can describe how amazing this day is.

18 January is my actual birthday, but unfortunately, I have to change it to 12 January for some complicated reason. So, today I am turning 22. Luckily, on my 22nd birthday, I got the opportunity to be in Thailand, especially in Udon Thani which has an anniversary on 18 January.

This morning, me and all my Indonesian friends were asked to witness the Dancing Party on the road by our Buddies. They picked us up at our dorm around 7 a.m and went to the event's place by walking. Actually, the place is very near with the University, the Dancing Party was held exact in front of Udon Thani Rajabhat University. So we were lucky because we don't have to go so far to reach the place. I met my mentor Ms. Mew and Ms. Kittawan who participated in that occasion while we crossed the road to take a picture before the event begin. They were very pretty with the Thai costume and flower accessories around their body. My Mentor -Ms. Mew- really happy to met me. And she was very proud to show me Thai Dancing. Then we saw the Dancing performance at 9 a.m up on the bridge so we can see it clearly.

After the event over, all Buddies "escorted" us to have a meal at their favorite place. That wasn't a meal actually, that was a Korean dessert cafe, they said that the place was perfect for today. So we agreed to go there. The place so nice, even though that's a bit small place, but they decoration was pretty and cute, very Korean-ish. Lol. We bought 3 whole bingsoo package which contained a Huge Ice (I don't know how it called in english) and 3 kind of ice cream flavors, and various of toppings such as, fruits, biscuits, marshmallow, oreo and I don't know anymore. Lol.
the most important part of that moment is not having bingsoo together, but the cross-culture thing we did. as we all knew, we were came from different country, Thailand and Indonesia, and we were having Korean foods, and we our conversation done in English. That was fascinating for me.
before the bingsoo came, there were surprise birthday party for me, organized by my Buddy- Chuun. She asked the waiter to bring the cake with the candle and surprise me with the birthday song. I was very touched, I'm about to cry but since all of my friend stared at me, I couldn't cry at all. And then, I blew up the candle and wished something in between. I wished everyone happy and healthy. such a cliche, but that was the most sincere wish I could make. not only that, my family also sent a birthday picture of me all the way from Indonesia.
I didn't get a present, but I think, there were no special present as good as the birthday party they made. That was something beyond my expectation, and nothing compare to how sincere they were when they pray for me. but, after finished with all of the birthday-mood, another Buddy of mine, Pew, came all the way to cafe from university to gave me a present. I felt so moved. I was beyond blessed.  Thank God. Alhamdulillah wa Syukurillah.

The day wasn't over without any night-life party. Lol. My buddy accompanied me to witness the firework party at Nongprajak Park. She said that the fireworks party is related with the anniversaru of Udon Thani, so to completed the experience, we went out to that place. The fireworks light the sky so beautifully, me and my buddy met another buddy of my friends so we gathered up and enjoyed the night together.
finally, the day ended in the most beautiful yet unexpected way.

I am truly grateful for everything Allah sent to me for 22 years. I've never been so happy as I am today. I hope, Allah will let me witness another unexpected journey in the future. Amen.
